I used to go shooting. We always ate the pheasants and partridges we shot. I was always fascinated by mature cock pheasant claws which are not really purple, of course. But a bit of harmless photographic licence has been taken with this one. Makes for quite a dramatic effect, I thought. I hope you agree.

During a visit to one of those country shows where they judge all the various bits of a myriad of farm animals and then give some of them rosettes (how do they decide?) we came across a horse with this very showbizzy get-up. A braided dobbin indeed.
