Wander North along the beach at Aldeburgh in Suffolk, UK, and you'll come upon a four-metre high 'Scallop' designed by celebrated Suffolk-born Maggi Hambling, made entirely of steel by Aldeburgh craftsmen Sam and Dennis Pegg. The sculpture is inscribed with the words “I hear those voices that will not be drowned” from Britten’s famous opera Grimes, which are intended to be read against the magnificent Suffolk sky.

In a field near a barn. Why? Maybe there are giants. Something's missing, though. Perhaps it's really just a giant commode.

The view from just over the wall opposite St Peter's Church, Stourton into Stourhead Gardens. That iconic Palladian bridge there with The Pantheon beyond. Quintessentially England.

A painterly version of a photograph I tool back in 2010 just up the road from here. Plenty of deer around here and there they are next to one of my favourite trees in the area. I'm very fond of this one. Less is more.
