Taking Photographic Papers Seriously

The choice of paper on which a photograph is printed must be sympathetic with the subject matter of the work. The right choice can immensely enhance the impression it imparts to the viewer. Just as you wouldn't choose to drink a fine wine from an earthenware mug, nor surely would you print a good photograph - worthy of framing - on a low grade photo paper without depth or colour accuracy, or a sympathetic texture. Moreover, you'd prefer the work not to fade or deteriorate with light as most inexpensive everyday papers do. This is why I take such a great deal of trouble to ensure my work is printed on the most appropriate and finest of fine art giclée papers. Of archival, museum and exhibition grade so it will not change over time. Such a high level of quality costs a little bit more but the artwork with which you choose to surround yourself is surely worth it, is it not? I think so. I hope you agree.
